The SRL task group has conducted an online “SRL Schools Startup Sharing Session 2021” on 13 May 2021. The event helped schools interested in promoting SRL to understand more about the theories of SRL and the practices of different schools. The event attracted 285 principals and teachers from over 40 schools. The responses from the participants about the activity were very positive and encouraging. Quite a number of schools showed their interest in joining the forthcoming SRL network activities.

The event started with a welcome speech by the Chairman, Mr. Lin Chun-pong, highlighting the key stages of SRL development that the Association has achieved in the past decade.  Then we were happy to have Dr. Stanley Ho Sai-mun to share the theories and strategies of SRL. We were also grateful to Ms. Ella Chan Shuk-man, Principal of Po Kok Secondary School and Mr.  Mak Man-chiu,   Principal of Ho Yu College and Primary School (Sponsored by Sik Sik Yuen) for their genuine and generous sharing on how to kick off,  promote and review the effectiveness of SRL at their schools. In the Q & A session, the two conveners of the task group, Dr. Lau Yiu-hung and Ms. Veronica Yau Kit Ying have joined and exchanged ideas on capacity building, student learning, and tips to develop the SRL culture in schools. Principals and teachers of the participating schools found the three-hour event resourceful and practical.
